We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. We don’t all have to agree, but kindness is required.

No Hate Speech or Bullying

Bullying and oppressive and discriminatory behaviour/language of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to LGBTQ+ based phobia, racism, xenophobia, sexism, body shaming, slut-shaming, ageism and ableism.

Lives Are Not Up For Debate

Lives and rights are not up for discussion/debate in this group. Proud2Be was set up to support ALL LGBTQ+ people. No one should be asked to justify their identity, expression and/or existence.

No Gatekeeping

The only person who can decide someone’s sexual orientation and/or gender is themselves. Intentional misgendering will not be tolerated.

Respect Everyone’s Privacy

Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What’s shared in the group should stay in the group.

No Representatives

Don’t expect a person to represent all people who identify in the same way. No one should be asked to represent or speak on behalf of an entire group. We speak for ourselves and take ownership of our own thoughts, feelings and opinions.

Please be courteous of other members by starting a post with “TW (trigger type):” followed by 6 or 7 lines with just a dot. This is standard practice for sensitive topics.

Share But Don’t Spam (online)

Please do share details of other community events and groups, that you feel others may find useful. Please avoid posting the same information multiple times – they will be deleted.

No Blocking Admins or Moderators (online)

In order to keep the group running smoothly, we need to be able to see all comments and posts. We cannot help if we cannot see the comment or post, or we cannot communicate with you.
